I have been busy this spring and writing on this blog has fallen by the wayside. Summer will be busy too. I’ve gotten all of the year’s medical appointments out of the way, am at a comfortable point in terms of flute production, am keeping up with mowing as the grass grows exponentially, and am enjoying the sunnier weather. April in the Pacific Northwest was one of the dreariest on record. I still have much to do: gardening stuff, getting ready for summer guests, getting my chops up for summer music activities, and other stuff that I am forgetting at the moment.
Meanwhile, enjoy these pics of recent instruments:
The first photo shows a pair of Irish Flute Combos that can be set up as flutes in C, D, Eb or E. I am particularly happy with the new design of the C flute which is easier on the hands and responds well at that lower pitch. These were shipped yesterday.
The second photo shows a quartet of keyed flutes that I built between November and February. These were really hard on my hands, causing a carpal tunnel flareup.
