When I write my book on flute making, I need to go to Missouri sometime to get a photo with the great actor Darren Burrows who I “technically directed” for a day on the set of Northern Exposure. He still does Hollywood occasionally but also has become a great jeweler and craftsman. Here is an image from his Facebook page. I asked him if he could do a Steampunk Kennedy for me.
I gained great respect for the Hollywood-based TV and Movie industry in my one day in “Hollywood”. I have never seen such a group of artisans working towards perfection, doing something over and over and over 24/7 until everything is done right. Occasionally some can do so in one take…though it never gets used. During the horrible Trump Presidency I watched this clip over and over in order to remain sane:
I am going to work a bit today on the storyline for The Blue Flute. My dear friend Sonya Roberts was a screenwriter for Peyton Place and did one episode of The Mod Squad. I should give her a call as I want to send her a copy of my favorite book on script treatments called The Beaver Papers. This is the funniest book on the planet.
