We were saddened to learn about the recent passing of Rod Cameron who was a dear friend as well as one of the greatest Baroque Flute makers of all time. I’ve known Rod for most of my career. Nancy and I once hired him to officiate at our wedding - hence he was always Reverend Rod to us afterwards. He developed quite a knack for this. Rod was a scientist, passionate artist, engineer, mentor, colleague and more or less family. For decades my mother-in-law lived literally next door to his workshop which was very convenient!
Rod was part of the 1950s British Greenland Expeditions and walked across from one side to the other. Its not so easy a task especially in terms of climbing up and down the glacial faces of the Ice Cap.
I and several others have stories to tell, photos to share, and more. I am compiling these data on a new site at reverendrod.substack.com
Enough said about Rod here - except hugs and love to Rod’s wife Kathleen and family.
