This will be a fun week. Before a doctor appointment in Seattle tomorrow, I plan to go to Olympic Color Rods and pick out enough 104 clear glass for the first 3-4 flutes, and testing of my processes. Some will go for the foot joint that I will make for Robbie Lee’s flute.
Tonight I am meeting up with my concrete contractor regarding the pad for the new Garage. I will be placing the larger pantograph milling machine out there and be able to use it with a simple extension cord. This week I might order some diamond tooling for this machine which I can test on my current lathe. I’ll probably “dig in” the electrical pathway for the 60 amp line and wire that in next year. I have no immediate needs for the kiln.
<Updated> The biggest task this week on this project is my fundraising page and letter. I’ve decided to do my fundraising as strictly on a donation basis which I will treat as income. Since I haven’t written it yet, my book on flute making will be mentioned but not yet promised. Hopefully the 22 or so chapters that I plan to write and illustrate will pan out and I’ll be able to email copies of this to my donors.
Otherwise I will work towards getting all of the other flutes remaining in my queue close to finish and out the door.
